In today's activity, I was introduced to the term 'Stake holders', Stake holders are to my understanding, individuals or organizations that affect or are affected by a product, project or an idea.
Warm up Activity
During the warm up activity we were shown photographs of people in different situations (street vendors selling on the road, on a rainy day/a classroom with students and faculty inside). These situations were being observed from multiple points of view, as people shared their own observation of the pictures.
These observations were of people involved/stake holders in that situation. Both the direct stakeholders (those who are directly affected by the core stake holder of the situation) and the indirect stakeholders (those who are affected but not visible in the main picture).
Main Activity
For this activity we we were divided into several groups. For the first half of the activity, each group had to create a 'stake holder map'. This was a visual representation of all possible stake holders who are connected to the scenario assigned to the group.

In the second half, each member had to choose one stake holder from the map, imagine a problem that their chosen stake holder may encounter and come up with two solutions.

Reflection
Stake holder mapping helped in presenting the stake holders, their connections (direct, indirect) to each other and to the core stake holder of the scenario in an organised manner.
The list of stakeholders that had been listed together during group discussion, when represented in this manner made it easier for the reader to identify their connections and influence on each other.
We could connect the different stake holders to one another when looking for solutions to one stake holder's problem.
In our stake holder map, the parent (stake holder) could be connected to many other stake holders when searching for a solution to their problem.
In group work, we were able to have a good discussion when listing stake holders for our scenario. The members were also throwing in suggestions for each other during the individual work for problems and solutions of stake holders.
I think this overall helped in finishing our activity at a decent pace, even though we were all new to using the miro baord and had to adjust a bit work on it.
Learning Mantra of the day-- "Mapping work helps in laying down elements of a larger idea in a clear manner and representing to whom and how they are connected to each other"
