Warm Up Activity
Visualising and then depicting words only through use of lines. (use of black or white lines on a 4x4 inch square of black or white paper within a 2-3 minutes time limit)
1. Slide 2. Trapped

3. Struggle 4. Violence

Main Activity
We carried forward with the task except each group was assigned five words, out of which two were to be sketched using lines per person. Lastly, one out of the two sketches was to be replicated in 3D.
Our group was assigned with words- Courage, irritated, run, slow and horrified.

- Horrified

- Courage

- Courage (3D)
Reflection
Learning about lines and its expression
A line can be defined as a collection of dots/ a moving dot.
Lines can vary in thickness, color, size, etc. Its placement also changes what it implicates.
Bold/thick lines give emphasis.
Lines used on borders define the composition.
Using different types of lines accordingly help communicate a meaning or word appropriately.
Lines can also be used to show an outline of an object or scenery that associates to the main word you want to communicate.
Outcomes
Warm up activity
a few of the outcomes were coming out to look similar even though the words they were supposed to express were different.
Using different thickness of pens or even ink could have brought variation and more freedom when expressing words that maybe similar in meaning.
Use of white lines on black sheets as well instead of just white ones could have helped.
Main activity
The 2d lines for horrified took more time than needed, but I think using a black as background helped in expressing the word.
The 2d lines for courage came out close to what I had imagined. When working on the 3d model there was not much time left, I had used a flimsy paper which took more time to glue together and was tearing.
Using white markers instead of white poster paint could have cut down the extra time used and given more emphasis on the lines for horrified.
Using a harder paper like ivory sheets could have prevented the model from becoming flimsy.
Leaving out more time for making the model or simplifying the model, so that it is not made in a rushed manner.
Group working
Team work felt a bit more challenging this week.
We stayed on call throughout the work process and the talking in between slowed down the work.
Deciding on who does what early on and cutting the call there with a set time to meet up for compilation of everyone's work could have helped. So that we can work with better focus and also take breaks at our own pace in that time.
Learning Mantra of the day-- "Divide the work early on and don't let the call extend for too long"
